GoodWeave International joins the Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile as a supporting organisation

Founded by Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, GoodWeave has partnered for more than 25 years with brands, producers and worker communities to create visibility at all levels of production. Through supply chain due diligence, social programs and capacity building, GoodWeave’s programs help brands identify and remediate cases of abuse, and address root causes of child labor and worker exploitation.

As a supporting organisation, GoodWeave looks for synergies between its activities to eliminate child, forced and bonded labor, and due diligence activities of AGT signatories of the Agreement on Sustainable Garments and Textile (AGT). Partnership opportunities for AGT signatories include exploring opportunities for capacity building, and to access knowledge and tools drawn from GoodWeave’s proven system. Signatories of AGT have the possibility to become a partner in GoodWeave’s certification or supply chain due diligence programs for carpet, home textile or apparel goods. These programs focus on child, forced and bonded labor identification and remediation in South Asian supply chains.
