Politicians swap hats for a more sustainable garment sector
Solidaridad, party to the AGT, organized an event to swap hats in antipaction to ‘Prinsjesdag’ on 11 september.
The event is part of the Solidaridad’s fashion awareness campaign (Modebewust) and was organized to draw attention to a more sustainable clothing sector and to the reuse of goods. During the event, a panel discussion was held with, among others, Isabelle Diks (Member of Parliament for Groenlinks), Heske Verburg (Director of Solidaridad Europe) and Wilma Veldman (Purchasing director at Zeeman) who participates in the covenant. Zeeman acknowledges the problem of an untransparant supply chain and is working hard to do something about it. The joint approach within the covenant is a good approach, Isabelle Diks also sees. Together parties and companies have more impact. The joining by big (international) brands and international upscaling are important steps to further increase the impact.
