Nyrstar signs the International RBC Agreement for the Metals Sector

Nyrstar, an internationally operating company in the metal sector, signed the International RBC Agreement for the Metals Sector on 26 October 2020

The company has mining, smelting and other activities in Europe, North America and Australia. The company employs over 4,000 people and is headquartered in Budel, the Netherlands.

Nyrstar has market leadership positions in zinc and lead and growing positions in other base and precious metals. In August 2019, the majority of Nyrstar's operational activities became the property of Trafigura, one of the world's largest independent commodity trading companies.

By signing this Metals Agreement, Nyrstar commits to taking responsibility for its supply chains and to identify, prevent and reduce (potential) negative impacts on people and the environment.

Daniel Vanin, CEO of Nyrstar: “As a leading company in the sector, we want to take responsibility for a sustainable supply chain. We will actively contribute to the objective of the Metals Agreement by making our knowledge and experience available”.

The current parties welcome Nyrstar to the Metals Agreement and they look forward to a fruitful cooperation.
