In the IRBC Agreement, wind and solar energy companies, industry associations, trade unions, civil society organisations, knowledge institutions and the Dutch government work together with the aim of promoting international responsible business conduct (IRBC) in the renewable energy sector. This is done by jointly identifying human rights, environmental and biodiversity risks in the value chain and taking action to address them, for example through collective projects.

RP Global

RP Global is an IPP (independent power producer) developing a pipeline of >14 GW(p) of solar PV, wind and storage projects, with local teams across seven European markets. With over 40 years' experience, RP Global is committed to accelerating the transition to a low-carbon energy system that benefits communities, investors and the environment.

As a proactive participant in international sustainability initiatives, including the UN Global Compact, RP Global’s responsibility extends beyond the development and operation of infrastructure. Sustainable and responsible business practices are at the core of its mission, guiding how the company engages with partners, stakeholders, and local communities to ensure ethical, environmentally sound outcomes.

By joining the IRBC Agreement, RP Global strengthens its commitment to transparency, fair working conditions, and sustainable sourcing across its value chain. This step reflects the company’s dedication to identifying and addressing human rights and environmental risks, working collaboratively with industry partners, NGOs, trade unions, and governments to build an ethical, transparent, and resilient value chain.

“We play a big role in the green transition, but our activities also have an impact on people and the planet. By joining the IRBC Agreement, we aim to enhance our capabilities to avoid, reduce and mitigate these impacts and to contribute to the development of renewable energy projects in a socially and environmentally responsible manner,” says Lucas Buchhass, ESG Manager at RP Global.
