The decision reflects a shift in the organization’s strategic priorities and limited capacity, which make it no longer possible for the North Sea Foundation to contribute meaningfully to the Agreement’s activities and collaborative initiatives.
We sincerely thank the North Sea Foundation for its valuable contributions to the Agreement, particularly its efforts to raise awareness of and address the environmental and biodiversity impacts of renewable energy development in the North Sea. We greatly appreciate its engagement and expertise and look forward to opportunities for future collaboration.
About the Agreement
The IRBC Agreement for the Renewable Energy Sector brings together companies active in the solar and wind energy sectors, trade unions, civil society organizations, and the Dutch government to promote International Responsible Business Conduct (IRBC). Through this collaboration, participants work to identify, prevent, and address human rights and environmental risks within renewable energy value chains, including through joint initiatives and sector-wide projects.
