Affiliated contracting authorities

Governments are major purchasers of natural stone. In recent years, several municipalities have made news negatively because child labour has taken place in the extraction and processing of natural stone that is used in public spaces. Socially Responsible Procurement (SRP) by governments is therefore of great importance.

Affiliated contracting authorities/governments of the TruStone Initiative work towards a more sustainable supply chain for natural stone. This has a positive impact on their social and administrative reputation.

Affiliated contracting authorities/governments are not on their own: together with companies, sector umbrella organisations, labour unions, other governments and civil society organisations they join forces to tackle the problems that occur with the production of natural stone because these are not to solve for an individual organisation.

Affiliated contracting authorities/governments can receive support with socially responsible procurement. Please inform the independent TruStone Initiative secretariat for more information.
